Rotarian Hanes has 45 years of experience in higher education and non-profit organizations. He received acclaim for his leadership and development of the Whitaker Center for Science and the Arts.  In addition, and through those years, he developed a deep seated love and appreciation for our magnificent Susquehanna River and it's prime role in the health and well being of the regional treasure, the Chesapeake Bay.  Now that he is retired from Whitaker he has become the prime mover in the extraordinary Chesapeake Expedition, A Journey of Discovery.  The title of a magnificent new big screen production which he is producing! If you love and appreciate our wonderful river, you will love hearing about this exciting and dramatic project now underway by a fellow Rotarian!
