Rotarians and Vision Partners Focused on Gift of Sight

Foose Eye Project served more than 300 students, improving vision and quality of life

 

 

foose-eyeMembers of the Rotary Club of Harrisburg teamed up with the Harrisburg School District, Steelton Highspire School District, Vision Resources of Central PA, PA Resource Family Association, and various other Central PA Rotary clubs to offer a free three-day eye care event for nearly 300 Harrisburg School District and Steelton Highspire School District students in need of vision screenings and corrective eyeglasses.  The service project took place from February 12 - 14 at Foose Elementary School in the Harrisburg.

Funding Available through YCDT

Dear Friends, 

Students in the Youth Community Development Team Class of 2013 will make a grant award to one non profit organization in Harrisburg for programs and services that address BASIC NEEDS for families.  Please share the Request for Proposal with local groups that may qualify for this one time grant award of $5,000.   The deadline to apply is March 1, 2013.

Rotarians Support 3rd Annual Project Homeless Connect in Harrisburg

The Rotary Club of Harrisburg participated in the 3rd annual Harrisburg-area Project Homeless Connect (PHC) event at the Pennsylvania Farm Show building on Friday, September 28, 2012. This special day, which brings necessary services directly to homeless people in the city, was planned and coordinated by the Capital Area Coalition on Homelessness (CACH) and supported by many Harrisburg-based organizations including Highmark, the United Way of the Capital Region, The Foundation for Enhancing Communities, and Lamar Advertising.
